Our skin naturally produces a protein called collagen, that gives it the volume and hydration it needs to look beautiful and shapely. But as we age, our body’s ability to produce the required collagen reduces. External help may be needed to continue looking youthful.
What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra in Newton is a state-of-the-art dermal filler that is designed to restore the natural plumpness and suppleness to the skin, by stimulating the production of collagen in the skin. It is formulated using the specialized Poly-L-Lactic Acid, which is normally produced by our body due to the hormonal changes that occur after we work out. This Poly-L-Lactic Acid, when injected into our skin, reaches deep into our skin tissue and starts to stimulate our dermal cells to re-start the production of collagen. This strengthens and restructures the underlying dermal tissues and allows us to regain our flawless, line-free skin.

Who Can Get Sculptra Treatments?
Sculptra is a safe procedure for most people and can be done by anyone who wishes to replenish collagen in their skin. If it is found that you are not eligible for Sculptra, our team at Newton Medical Aesthetics will recommend alternative anti-aging treatments for you.
The Sculptra Dermal Filler Procedure
The Sculptra process takes just 15-30 minutes. You are asked to sit in the treatment chair and your face is cleaned. We usually don’t give a local numbing agent, since this procedure is very seamless and pain-free. The areas of your face needing revitalization are identified and our experts inject small portions of Sculptra in your face.
We massage your face gently to ensure that the filler evenly spreads in the treatment site. After asking you to remain seated a few more minutes, you are allowed to return to your normal routine, as there is absolutely no downtime.
Post-Filler Recovery
After Sculptra in Newton, the injection sites may be slightly bruised, red and inflamed. But these will subside soon. You are given a few aftercare instructions to help you optimize your results. Over the course of the next few weeks, you’ll notice a significant improvement in your appearance.
How Often Should You Get Sculptra?
According to clinical testing, the effects of the Sculptra can last for over 2 years (a little over 25 months!). Once you get the Sculptra filler, you will need to use your normal skin care routine to maintain your skin and you don’t have to worry about getting any further collagen replenishment treatments for the next 2 years.
